Let an Angel Swing and make you swoon

These lyrics are too beautiful not to share...

The Riddle (by Five for Fighting)
******
There was a man back in '95
Whose heart ran out of summers
But before he died, I asked him

Wait, what's the sense in life?
Come over me, Come over me

He said,

Son why you got to sing that tune?
Catch a Dylan song or some eclipse of the moon
Let an angel swing and make you swoon
Then you will see... You will see

Then he said,

Here's a riddle for you
Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
You and I...

Picked up my kid from school today

Did you learn anything cause in the world today
You can't live in a castle far away
Now talk to me, come talk to me

He said,

Dad I'm big but we're smaller than small
In the scheme of things, well we're nothing at all
Still every mother's child sings a lonely song
So play with me, come play with me

And Hey Dad
Here's a riddle for you
Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
You and I...

I said,

Son for all I've told you
When you get right down to the
Reason for the world...
Who am I?

There are secrets that we still have left to find
There have been mysteries from the beginning of time
There are answers we're not wise enough to see

He said... You looking for a clue I Love You free...

The batter swings and the summer flies
As I look into my angel's eyes
A song plays on while the moon is hiding over me
Something comes over me

I guess we're big and I guess we're small
If you think about it man you know we got it all
Cause we're all we got on this bouncing ball
And I love you free
I love you freely

Here's a riddle for you
Find the Answer
There's a reason for the world
You and I...

Part of the reason for the growth of spirituality, intellectualism, and discovery stems from our need to know the most fundamental questions. Why me? Why here? Why now?

I don't think these are vain questions. They're the essence of consciousness, and part of mankind's responsibility to the globe.

As far as to whether we are grand or small, our egos say one thing, our fear and angst tell us the opposite. My personal belief is that once we suspend our illusion of self for a moment, we might come to the realization that life and awareness our a constant vibe throughout Earth, and probably through the cosmos.

Think of it this way. Look into a cup of water and try to count the drops. Pretty futile task, right? You can take some water out of the cup with a medicine dropper, and make the drops that way on a table next to a cup. You can do this until the cup is empty, and then count the drops.

Although seperate, their cohesive potential as water remains, and when they evaporate, they become one again as the ambient humidity of the room.

Always connected. Seperate only artificially. When separate, the water appears to have identity as seperate drops. But the essensce of what makes them what they are flows throughout. So the drop can think (if drops could think) that it is a small individual, or part of a larger greatness.

Or like a wise man once told us:

We were talking
About the space between us all,
And the people
Who hide themselves behind a wall

Of illusion
Never glimpse the truth

Then it's far too late
When they pass away.

We were talking
About the love we all could share
When we find it
To try our best to hold it there

With our love
We could save the world

If they only knew.

Try to realise it's all within yourself
No one else can make you change
And to see you're really only very small,
And life flows on within you and without you.

We were talking
About the love that's gone so cold And the people,
Who gain the world and lose their soul

They don't know
They can't see

Are you one of them?

When you've seen beyond yourself
Then you may find
Peace of mind
Is waiting there.

And the time will come
When you see
We're all one,
And life flows on within you and without you.

first time i found saturn with my telescope, i had the weird feeling of space behind me being taken up...and i was aware of my smallness, floating precariously, impermanent and on my way to dust. a great moment! liberating! not like today where i am hitting the rockpile hard. but, i will finish a BIG chapter of my work life this weekend. i am on the verge of real happy. but im a zombie right now.

but i came by for a smooch.

Sorry,
They lost be at "back in 95"
Unless they're talking about 1895, they're just too young to talk at all. ;-)

/t- "five-for-fighting" and I hope the link works so you can hear the song...

X~ It's ironic that you would mention drops of water in a cup...as the tears have flowed off and on all day- as if the sky and my heart both opened at the same time.
I don't know if I've ever heard "Within you, Without you" before- but it is stunningly beautiful.

I will ponder what you've said...try to suspend the illusion of myself for a moment. I am a part of something greater-

It seems though- I am mostly made of salt water.
Which I had forgotten...

Beloved K9...I am ever yours for the smooching :) Thanks for making me smile :) I sent you a note, and then another to be sure there was no misunderstanding- you must think I am crazy :)
(a tad I think? :)
Here's a hug and a smooch- that always helps the zombies I know personally :) I LOVE looking through a telescope- it almost makes me feel "high"~

/t- no friend, your vision is fine. When I saw your note and I thought it was silly that I hadn't inserted the link to start with! So, it was you that prompted me to add it :)
Yes...it's grey- but not bad- just a struggle inside-

Iamnot- :) I am working on something for you and your birthday :)

PW- Thank you- and you have some very interesting friends :)

Schaumi- you caught me! I wrote a tearful poem- it's a wonder the keyboard didn't short out. In the morning light I thought less of it~
********************

Oh...to be an Angel!
To be free to only love.
To carress and kiss each wound-
Directly sent from up above~

To know my touch meant something-
To know you loved me at first sight...
To have healed what's broken deep inside-
To know I did something right.

But more than all of this...
An angel found a passion true-
All the love she ever longed for-
Was found inside of you~

******
And then he died~

It's partly personal, and partly fiction- I FEEL too much today.
The excess keeps spilling out~

My nephew may be small in the scheme of the physical universe, but he is the biggest thing in my heart, and that counts more. ;)

You are right they are too beautiful to not share.

We are big and we are small. As they say one may be small in the cosmic scale but can be THE cosmos to a friend.

FM, hopefully none of them escaped from their cages and wandered over here. If they did, my apologies. I do my best to keep the Black Sheep separated from the White Sheep!
