My name, Cora, means Maiden, and we are all on a journey-hence "Mayden's Voyage"
I am a writer, mom, sister, daughter, and friend. I've been a blogger since 2006 and have met the most amazing people in the world because of it.
"What you say- IS what will happen." I am a firm believer in the power of words...both my own and yours.
♥
of course...I've been trying to just "be" as well...unfortunately some people around me ( male...lives in my house...taller than me...drives a car...)can't let me.just be...and wants me to be...what they want me to be..."hrmph" to that!
hi, may, you make me so jealous when i see your picture! but then, i hear you say something like this "just let me BE", and i realize that feeling is everywhere, no matter who you are!
PW...I am going to "BE", but not become Aunt Bea! Been working too hard all year to "be" the way I am now :)
Lux~ Friend...I have not had the time to write to you, and I am sorry. I will soon! :) Hrmph- absolutely! Here's my thing- it's not that anyone from the outside is trying to make me be someone else...it's me-- trying to please everyone. Blah!
/t- You never fail to surprise me with the grunge rock references...lol! Kurt, now eminem. Makes me wonder about you :)
Schaumi and X~ :) I think so much of both of you...being yourselves- hanging out in Germany and in Saunas...(but, ummm, not together :) both teachers- your words always carry weight with me.
iamnot...OINK! LOL! I'm kind of sorry I missed out on that time period of your life ;)
Freya....you did say it best (thaks firebird!) Human Being! Not a human doing... Wise words friend, very wise~
Libby- I didn't want to miss you... you make me laugh :) Thank you~ but the photos always do me more justice than they should. For every good pic, you should see the 20 I deleted! :) And YES, we are exactly the same :)
Miss E...you and I should buzz around together :) I'll send you a note soon.
that's nice of you to say about the teacher part... just know, your words carry great weight with me too. that's one of the things that brought me to your blog... I thought, geesh, who's this woman who posts these long, insightful, wellwritten comments?....gotta go check her out.
EOR- I've thought a lot about this-well before you asked the question...I'm glad you did.
I have about 12 to 18 boulders in my front yard...they are huge- and set up nicely, stacked in a row 2 or 3 high on the corner of our property. They just exist. However, they provide shelter for numerous animals, are fun to climb, warm up with the heat of the sun...and make a great fort for the kids (not during snake season though!) Those boulders just "are". They don't conform to anything...yet they have a function and I appreciate them. (I love them actually- makes my house feel very protected in an old fashioned sort of way~) I often feel like a worm in comparison- wriggling around, conforming to this and that...never just "Being". Always thinking that the first thing that comes to mind is stupid, and trying to come up with a better answer, or reply, or solution. There is a time and a place to BE like one of those boulders...and a time when I need to be flexible.
I'm learning how and when to be either. I think for me, "Being" is about observing and listening- but not reacting. I find I'm "Doing" when I should be "Being". Does that make sense? :)

I agree absolutely with that wish, it's a great photo of you
Oh course you can just be. Why, you can even be "Aunt Bee", if you wanna be. Be all that you can be. Why? Be-cause!

is a goede reason for calling a person "human being"
it is not "human doing" ja?
YES!!!
(Freya said it best!)
When the BEING becomes the reality, the DOING takes care of itself.
Take a break!! You deserve it.
Hugs to each of you! :)
Rachel- thank you so much :)

You might as well, for when you are older the question may be as thus, "Why can't I just pee?"

I like that Eminem quote from It. What does "to be" mean to you?
