Less talk, more action...

Complaining is the refuge of the powerless.

I just needed a reminder...

That's right. If you have no power, complaint is all you have left.

Seems to me that if one wants to hear less complaining, they afford the complaintant the opportunity to do something about what ails them.

But it was me...
I was complaining :(
I hate it when I do that!
Blah!
...So I afford myself the opportunity to do something about what ails me?

Ok- "Self- here's an opportunity to SHUT UP!"

lol! :) Going to bed now :)

Yes, mayden. You afford yourself the opportunity to do something about what ails you.....especially if it's a longstanding gripe. Easier said than done. (I do know what I'm talking about here)

So, go ahead, do something about it......
as long as it's legal of course :).

As long as it's legal???
lol! :)

ah, but, don't we all?
It's like the great human call,
"C'mon here t'complain! Come one and all!"
And, danged if we don't go and fill any great hall.

But, after the battle, y'still see the ghosts standin' there.
Fer all the complainin' done, the troubles are still there.

I reckon the only recourse any of us have, then
is to do as much good as we can, and do it often.

(but t'tell ya the truth
and I ain't much of a sleuth, of that, y'de have t'ask the cop....
But yer smile is enough
t'smooth things that are rough, yeah, I'de say that it really is tops!)

Precisely. It's why the US under Bush has become a nation of complainers. The media has never been more tightly controlled - have a friend who went to an antiwar rally in DC, an estimated 10,000 people - virtually no media coverage.

Power is being concenrated in the hands of fewer and fewer in this country.

Boneman- A smile for you :)

K9- at least 10 smooches for you- I am feeling quite radiant this morning- the next post will reflect as much :)

Dear Percy- Thank you for making me grin this morning! :)

In my house- I have a VERY strict rule about NO television on Sunday mornings.
Every day we need some time for reflection- but Sundays are special. Whether or not we attend a service, have a devotion in the living room, or just a prayer and a nice walk outside.
I don't even turn on the radio.

My complaint was about me...about my flaws...about my desire to be right- about my pride.
The world will rage on outside- Presidents will change- people sadly will die in the same horrific condtions they were born under- but you and I are blessed.

Blessed to say what we think, blessed to live in one of the cleanest places in the world, blessed to have access to various sources of news and information, blessed to know how to read and write and experience other cultures- and other points of view...blessed friend...BLESSED!
But just because we have a voice does not mean everyone must be forced to listen to us~

I have to look hard at myself- and I don't do it often enough...what can I do better? How can I be better? What can I do for my country- rather than what can it do for me...and my family, and my friends-
And you Percy, by the way, are in that circle.

Call CNN and find out why your rally wasn't televised...you have the power :)

And which Muppet are you?
Tell me, please... :)

ohhh I like this... so often I allow things to continue just because I am not willing to do what is necessary to change them myself! I needed to get up off my arse and change... I am happy to say that I am doing just that! This move to FL, even careers... I am even changing my things to some degree.. getting new furniture, both cars will be new...

Dell... I believe that everyone who is not in jail or physically restrained has power. Everyone from the homeless to the abused. It is all about deciding to change... courage perhaps and knowledge... but everyone has the power to live their life. Perhaps I will go a step further and say everyone has a responsibility to do so too.

cheers all!

Funny my comment is bigger than your post! sorry!! *wink

FM, I would like to complain about this post. I am NOT powerless, and if I were the administrator of this blog, I could prove it.
