4 Things

1. You can probably tell that I have been fooling around with my Template Settings...and something is askew. If you have any suggestions- please email them to me, or leave a note on my blog. Helpful suggestions only please...

2. I have updated my sidebar- and I really do enjoy these blogs- almost daily. Certainly not more than a week passes without my reading them. If I over looked you-please let me know...

3. IMPORTANT: How do you deal with a stranger attacking you? If the assault is physical, do you hit back, or run? If it's verbal- do you defend yourself, or let your personality speak for itself?
If you are a person who believes in prayer- Do you pray for your attacker?
(I do/both)
How do you deal with lies being told about yourself?
Is the love and care of your friends enough to soothe the burns inflicted by a stranger? (Yes, by all means- I hope so!)

4. I am a total flirt- but if you've spent any time here you know I am fairly deeper than that. I've covered everything from abortion to the Korean War on this blog-- I'll celebrate my 100th post in the very near future. Thank you for being here and encouraging me along the way :)

Hugs to my friends...and kisses to some of you! :)

Hi Cora

Great blog(!)
and I always enjoy your dandy postings...

Hmm, you've been playing with your blog template, and you've forgotten the number one rule of play -- backup -- that is, play with a backup copy, offline (like, with your WYSIWYG HTML editor), not with Blogger's cheezy online editor. But enough with the lecture.

It looks like you've changed some width settings, but, you didn't change them all. You need to change them back, or, finish making changes to all of them.

If things get way out of control, you can always go back to Blogger for a new template, and try again -- this won't affect any of your postings.

Alternatively, leave it as is... with its edgy Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome aesthetic...

Have fun,

/t.

Per #3, no one better be hurting you! I've been working out, so their days would be numbered.

Have a great weekend, Fair Mayden.

It- Thank you- I did change the width of several things :) And you know something- it was really interesting! Getting into the guts of my blog- cyber surgery? lol. I'll keep playing with it- and the back up suggestion is of course invaluable. Welcome :)

"P" lol:) Yes friend- Someone trying to inflict pain...it has happened- just like the proverbial bully on the playground- a kid who never learned to share, or was smacked around at home- spewing out ugly meaningless words.

They sting for a minute- but don't even leave a mark- because it's not truth, and only the truth remains...
Hope you have a good weekend too! :)

1. I would if I could but I can't so I wont.

2. Thank you, dear Mayden.

3. Do not get defensive; it makes it worse. Do not accept that something is true just because it is said. And use the delete option to modify behaviour.

4. No! You? A flirt? I don't believe it.

I have a very strong sense of who I am, and I am not bothered at all if someone personally attacks me.It rarely happens anyway.I generally go way out of my way to be nice to people.

All is fine dear friends...and X, as is his way- is a greater mentor and friend than I deserve...

dayzegoneby- we share something special- thank you for coming by- your photos take my breath away~ :)

JCn- as ever- your prose and verse
make me adore you- in the purest way a maiden can love...

Michelle- we are fast friends, bonded by a common foe :) How sweet it is to know you, by less than sweet connections....I often say that only God can use an evil thing and use it for good! LOL!

Gary- I was thinking today- if ever there was a man who was a monk at heart- it would be you :)
Pure, giving, and of course faulty- because no priest is perfect...but faulty in the BEST kind of way :) You are a dear...

K9- you are the only one I can smooch in public, and I LOVE you for that! :) Thank you :) If the one who inflicts pain shows up again, I promise to alert you...fair enough? :)

Hiya Cora,

You need to move your Stats counter code back into the div tag with the id of "sidebar" that'll probably kick it all back into place.

X. Dell said...

Actually, I'd say you deserve btter. But thanks for the kind words anyway.

You seem to have developed a watermark. Not personally, just up your blog. It gives it a 'newspaper found under the lino when we redid the kitchen' look. Sadly, I have no idea how to fix it.

If you go back to scratch and get a new template from Blogger, make sure you keep a copy of this one to paste in the sidebar links.

Well done on (nearly) getting to 100 posts. Are you going to do something special?

As I have just advised Sir Cosmo on his blog, I deal with attacks the old fashioned way: a challenge to a duel at dawn...

cora-i always love reading your blog no matter WHAT your template looks like! It's the words that are important, not the 'background picture'!!

/t. said...

Cora,

two things you can try, if you like:
(looks like a lot, but it's really simple)

before you do either, please save a copy of your current template
(per Lee's suggestion above -- quite right)

1) restore widths and edit two posts,
2) change widths to accomodate posts,
(affects fundamental look & feel of your blog)

THING 1

Your blog template as of about 1/2 hour ago:

Find at Line 74 (original) -- 4 changes
/* Layout
----------------------------------------------- */
#wrap {
background-color:#473624;
border-left:1px solid #332A24;
border-right:1px solid #332A24;
width:700px; <- CHANGE TO
margin:0 auto;
padding:8px;
text-align:center;
}
#main-top {
width:700px; <- CHANGE TO
height:49px;
background:#FFF3DB url("http://www.blogblog.com/scribe/bg_paper_top.jpg") no-repeat top left;
margin:0;padding:0;
display:block;
}
#main-bot {
width:700px; <- CHANGE TO
height:81px;
background:#FFF3DB url("http://www.blogblog.com/scribe/bg_paper_bot.jpg") no-repeat top left;
margin:0;padding:0;
display:block;
}
#main-content {
width:700px; <- CHANGE TO
background:#FFF3DB url("http://www.blogblog.com/scribe/bg_paper_mid.jpg") repeat-y;
margin:0;
text-align:left;
display:block;
}

Change these posts
- Oh- this is just silly....
- GONE- But not for long!

Modify or get rid of this line of text in each post:
(the line of asterisks is too long -- non-breaking)

****************************************************************************

THING 2 !UCANDU!

Find at Line 74 (original) -- 3 changes
/* Layout
----------------------------------------------- */
#wrap {
background-color:#473624;
border-left:1px solid #332A24;
border-right:1px solid #332A24;
width:800px;
margin:0 auto;
padding:8px;
text-align:center;
}
#main-top {
width:900px;
height:49px;
background:#FFF3DB; <- CHANGE TO
margin:0;padding:0;
display:block;
}
#main-bot {
width:900px;
height:81px;
background:#FFF3DB; <- CHANGE TO
margin:0;padding:0;
display:block;
}
#main-content {
width:900px;
background:#FFF3DB; <- CHANGE TO
margin:0;
text-align:left;
display:block;
}

Find at or near Line 144 -- (1 change)
#main {
width:550px; <- CHANGE TO
float:right;
padding:8px 0;
margin:0;
}

You should not need to edit any existing posts with THING 2
(but I can't test this from here(!))

/t.

Fair Mayden, remember, words only have power if you choose to give it to them. When someone tries to hurt you in this manner, they are only showing their immature desperation. You may be disappointed in them for doing it, but don't let their futile "grasping at straws" hurt you.

Whatta you know?

Watching all of those old "Brady Bunch" episodes with Mike Brady's family lectures has indeed made me wise beyond my years. And everybody busted my chops, calling it a major waste of time ...

BTW, thank you for the link. Hopefully you won't regret it. Some folks do judge you by the company you keep!

hi cora;

1. it seems you have enuf suggestions thus far so i will not add to your confusion =D

2. we have some friends in common - this is how i found u actually

3. if its physical - that all depends in the situation i suppose; if its verbal - i suppose a reflexive reaction would be to strike back but possibly the wise thing to do would be ignore the baffoon. lies? people that spread lies about anything or anyone do no deserve my time, attention or energy. this is easier said than done, isn't it?

4. 100 posts - congrats on that ...

ah, messing with the template....LOL

to my link list. i've skewed mine before but couldn't even tell you how i got it back to normal.
and yes, i'm back..:)
