Ingredients:
1 whole chicken or turkey
1 large lemon, cut into halves
sprig of rosemary
salt and pepper to taste
butter or olive oil, whichever you prefer
Heat oven to 350 degrees
Rub butter or oil over the skin of the chicken/turkey until it is completely coated.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper and any other seasonings you prefer.
Take a knife and gently separate the skin from the breast meat;
Slide lemon halves under the skin with the peel side up, one on
each side. This way the juice from the lemon will release into the breasts.
Place sprig of rosemary into the chicken/turkey.
Cover and bake for 30-45 minutes. Remove cover and continue
to roast until juices run clear, basting every 15-20 minutes.
If you've followed these steps correctly, your chicken/turkey should
look like the one in the picture.
Bon Appetit!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!!

Oh, and you have to stuff the chicken with one dollar bills

Did I ever wish you a happy holiday? I thought I had. Sorry.
well...it sounds like quite a project, but, it also looks worth it!
The name of one of the tunes I sent was "Like Blue into the Sky"
not that that is meaningful here....only that, I don't always get the same rush other folks get fer the big season on us all, now.
And, in any case, someone has to be the dark glass, eh?
LMAO!!! I wish I could have pulled that one out of the oven this weekend!
So ... ... ... is your turkey "seeing" anybody?
Just let her know that - contrary to any rumours you may have heard - I'm not just interested in basting.
and a better picture, too.
Way cool, gal!
I heard a great recipe the other day for rutebega...is that how you spell it?
In any case, Rutebega is a Thanksgiving "Treat" in many parts of the land. Personally, I think Rutebega tastes like dirt which has some sort of toxic spill in it...no, that's not true.
Rutebega tastes a LOT worse than that. Ok...the recipe:
You take a rutebega...quarter it...boile it/drain it...and mash it.
Then you take 4 Idaho potatoes, slice them open, place them in tin foil and bake them until done.
Finally, you throw the Rutebega in the garbage can, and add salt, butter, and/or sour cream to the potatoes and eat them.
No charge for the recipe...on the house!
