What's in my head this moring~

---
"You see, greatness for a state (or a person) doesn't require some huge monument for all to see. It is not a journey to a particular destination - but a commitment to follow a course of constant and never-ending improvement. " (my insertion)

-Sonny Perdue
Georgia Governor
*************************************

I love this quote- and it helped me to see some things I wanted to (wrongly) make monuments of in my life. Being true and consistent with the people I am committed to, and always striving to improve my home and my relationships brings fulfillment like nothing else can.

It's so easy to be distracted from the little things each day that make life worthwhile.

One day I'll hold a copy of my book in my hands- hopefully one day I'll have a whole bookshelf full of them...but until then, being the best "me" I can be makes me a success.

And you- being the best that you can be- makes you a success too~

Have a great week friends :)

(PS- I love this new look-
Blue is my favorite color! I don't think I'll change it :)

What an inspiring thought--it puts into words what it took me a lifetime to learn...
(we aren't told these things early enough in life, it seems--at least not in my generation!)

Actually, the blue would go really well with your eyes, don't you think?

My interest in the blog is really in its content. So however it looks, I'll still visit it if it's Mayden's Voyage.

wow!...ahhhh...like I can just settle back to rest...funny...we have the same thought...I feel like we are both sitting in front of a beautiful ocean....just watching the glory of the sun...without..our feet..on the sandy shore...

Schaumi- It is nice- thank you :)
I'll keep checking for you unveiling! :)

/t- the more I read the quote- the better I like it! Glad you thought so too :)

Firebird- You make an interesting point about what we're told growing up...some things definitely get left out- and then other things we are told, but they don't compute. I'm glad this touched you as it did me...it made perfect beautiful sense. I'm not sure that 10 years ago I would have understood it :)

X~ Yes...it does match my eyes- and you would know! :) As far as content- I'm honored that you read it. I imagine one day- in the not so distant future your life will be even more busy...teaching and writing articles for the a University.
I predict, in the next 10 years- I'll be a moderately known published author and you'll be a Dean- and we'll have lunch is some fancy restaurant in NYC and laugh about our blogging days... :) Let's make it happen! :)

Lux- Heavens- you make me laugh! :)
One day- yes...one day- we'll have our feet in the water! Your beach or mine, or one in between! LOL :))

PW- Thank you...and you have a way of putting things into perspective too :) I so enjoyed your blog this morning :)

Hey, if I can be published, anyone can.
Seriously, I co-authored a non-fiction book some years ago. It felt great to be "published."
At the time, an acquaintance told me how badly she wanted to be an author. I told her that the key to being published was to write something.
Hell, I'd love to play the piano, but all of those lessons and practice sessions just turn me off.

In that light, I know you'll succeed. Heart, soul and determination. Who do we know that has all of those things?
