Quote of the day~

Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap,
but by the seeds you plant.

(Does anyone besides me seem to have a lot of weeds in their garden?

Just wondering...)

Get you a few dozen heads of cattle hun - they will eat the weeds!

Trust me they mow my yard well!

Hope you guys have a good weekend - do not do anything I would do!

Oh and I am a little tiffed about Mr Craig over there - why I am the best James Bond ever - he is just a wanna B - lots - lots and lots of weeds in his yard!

Just kidding

cora-it's hard to pull the 'weeds', isn't it? but this time of year, this year, anyway, it seems to be getting easier..(HUGS)

if i had a tradtional garden, it would most definately have weeds.

but... i have a limited pot garden (not like smokin' pot, like plants in pots)

currently my miniature rose bush is despairingly dead. and so is my in-house orchid (i am a habitual orchid killer).

my impatients for some odd reason are thriving - they've no right to though.

and though the potato vine is lusty, avids have attacked again. argh...i have tried lady bugs and then nuclear sprays - but those avids keep a'comin'!

my sister puts fake flowers in pots on her patio when she gets too busy to garden. i'm not that bad

yet.

i am looking for fake weeds for her garden though.

Baron- If I told you the story of how I begged my parents to let me milk a cow...every summer that we went to Indiana- you would marvel at that fact that I DON'T have one of my own.
I LOVE cows! :)
I did finally get to milk one- perhaps I should tell that story some time??? :) LOL~

Ummm- between you and me and the cows- if I could choose between you and Daniel- I'd pick you :) But seeing how I have NO choice in the matter- we'll just pretend that I'm Miss Moneypenny- ok? LoL :)

/t- I so wish I could see you in a hat! :)
About those weeds of yours...if they make you happy- I'm happy :)

Libby- Yes...they are easier to pull when they seem to die out- but it's all a big joke, because no matter how good the flower bed looks - weed free- in Feb- they ALL come back in April!!! :)

Bird- I love it! Fake weeds! Only in California...fake boobs, noses, chins...and now weeds! (I'm teasing!)
All I've got growing on the deck is a pot with rosemary in it- and I need to plant it somewhere this spring. I put the Hibiscus in the garage (it's taller than I am- which isn't much actually)- and it did well last winter in there.

I like the fake flowers idea :) I might just go that route when all the garland on the deck comes down :)

Schaumi- Thistles and thorns...ouch! Hope your garden is free of those- but we all have a few, don't we???

Any weeds? Just a little crabgrass.

This post reminds me of Johnny Appleseed. My grandmother's property used to have a tree originally planted by him. (Actually, I should re-word that. The tree's still living, the grandmother isn't).

Anyway, it's kinda interesting that a man who sowed so many seeds could be partly responsible for great apple pies a century later.

BTW, I'm an admirer, although not a secret one.

Seeds ! Seeds! R.L.Stevenson said "seeds you plant" not weeds :)

I seem to have a lot of d**kweeds in my garden (of Eden). But I think they deserve more of a certain finger than a green thumb.

I'm kidding of course.

None in my flower beds, and the ones in my grass have hopefully been killed off by the granular Scott's Fall Weed and Feed I applied a month or so ago.

Or were you speaking metaphorically?

Oh, and I'd like to take a shot at your Mack Velvet question, if I may. Obviously the last time you partook, a knife of some sort must have been involved in the soiree.

This is why my rule (more of a guideline, actually) is to no longer drink brown liquor with blondes.

However, drinking blonde pilsners with dark women remains a weakness.

puerileuwaite said...

BTW ... I have a quote as well.

"Don't judge each Saturday night by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.

Oh, I forgot the closing quotation marks of that quote. I hate when I do that!

There. Better.

Got plenty of weeds, but learned from a local farmer to let'em go fer a bit, then till 'em into the earth.
Free nitrogen (and other nutrients) blast.

Unless yer speaking of "weeds" other than the growing type outside.
My goodness, I do have some weeds in my mind, but, I try not to focus on them too much.

X~ I imagine that the cavemen were making apple pies of some sort long before Johhny came along :)
But I love the idea he left some seeds at your grandmothers place :)

Thanks for the admiration...it goes both ways :)

Pug- Mack the knife had nothing to do with it...you are SHOWING YOUR AGE!!! I assumed you were younger than me...now I realize you must be older! 39 and holding perhaps???
LOL!
ANd you have a yard? Dude- you are mid 40's and not a minute less :)

Boneman! Where have you been??? I peeked at your blog yesterday- and no sign of you! Glad to see you here :)
