There and back again~ (click for "Windjammer")

Yeah... we're home!
(Wait...BOO!!!...I wish I was still at the beach!)

The Windjammer is my favorite hotel...click on the link above and you'll see why!
All the rooms are ocean-front with beautiful views.

When we arrived, we walked out on the balcony to look at the Atlantic ocean...and guess what we saw?

Dolphins! And not just a few...but about 15! This is just one pod!

Trust me- those ARE NOT SHARKS! I looked up and down the shore- and the dolphins could only be seen in front of our hotel!

-

The Sunsets were stunning-

And we had a lovely time- we didn't do anything extraordinay...we just tried to unwind- and enjoy the time off- the time away. We did go for a walk on the beach and I found a whole sand-dollar! :)
I gave it to Tim~

Bye little dolphins! Hope we'll see you again soon!!!
-
Thanks for all your "well-wishes" for this trip! I felt them~
Hopefully my post tomorrow, or later this week, will be a little "deeper" than this one! :)

Welcome back....
You should move to the beach. It's the only way to live.

wow, I am so jealous. We have sunsets like that in the Outer Banks and I miss them...and the dolphins! We see dolphins all the time.

You're pictures are beautiful!

wonderful pics .... kewl about the dolphins ... (yup - those bad ass dolphins! lol) glad you savoured your time together.

i have to go a ways up the west coast to see any water-mammals ... the closest i ever came, here in bc, was a baby seal on the pacific rim beach that my doggie, brownie, decided to give chase!

enjoy your week, my friend.

They couldn't have been sharks. All the sharks are at the IRS gearing up for tax time.

Looks like Mrs. C got away for some good R&R. Me thinks you did some shopping too. The blog is wearing some new designs and looking very Maydenly

I'm glad you had a good time. It's always nice to get away.

Nice pictures! The only reason I eat canned tuna is on the off chance there may be some dolphin mixed in. Flipper, the other white meat. Glad you are back!!

I remember seeing dolphins when I was in New Zealand. They're so much fun to watch splashing about :)

Just be careful, FM. Don't be like that blonde in the Vonage commercial who's laying on the beach with her beau, and spots fins in the water.

Blonde: "Oh look! Dolphins!"

Then she runs off to go swim with them ...

Bone- LOL :)
The water temps are in the 60's- not quite warm enough for me to "test" the waters! But I did think about it! :)

/t- Thank you :)
Last summer I saw a fin- from my beach chair...and the kids were swimming in the water. I nearly had a stroke trying to get them out until I knew what the fin was attached to! (Dolphin)
We've seen very small sharks in the surf- so I know they are out there- but we've never seen one big enough to do any harm. That doesn't mean much though! I'd hate to have an encounter with a big one!

Leelee- thank you :) I'll be in Florida at the end of the month- so I'll get to enjoy your weather! But I'll be at the pool mostly! :)

Chickory- :) Yes~ Dolphins are cool with people- and not friendly with sharks...the trick is to be friends with a Dolphin! :)

Foam- I did think of you while I was there! :)

Iamnot- There is much wisdom to what you say. And, of course, a move like that is easier said than done...
but I do think I would be quite happy if I were closer to the water~

Beth- Welcome! The Outer Banks (of NC) are gorgeous...I've been there several times. There is nothing like the dolphins in the water, and the wild horses on the beach- stunning...it really is a magical place.

Mantissa- A baby seal?! Wow! That would be a wonderful thing to see :) I do think I'll make it to New Zealand to see the whales(Beluga?) one day. I love ocean life...it always amazes me what's just beneath the surface of our waters.

Monster- thank you! Mantissa made the header for me...I love it! :)

Thanks Little Lamb- good to see you :)

Phos- Thank you :) Ever have "Dolphin fish"- which is also called Mahi-Mahi...yummmmm! Lovely stuff!

Lux- Hello friend! :)
You know- when we walked into the room and looked out- saw 12 to 15 dolphins swimming in the surf- I did take it as a good omen for the trip. Almost everytime I looked outside they were there- splashing and jumping...like they were happy to see us! They were not there the morning we left-
Too sad to say goodbye?
I know I was!
I'm dreaming too friend- it will happen one day! We'll end up on the same shore- somehow! :)

SJ- I have a feeling that you have wonderful stories to tell! Ireland and New Zealand are at the top of my list for places to visit-
I hope I won't have to wait too long!

Pug- I promise- I will be careful!
:)

Sounds like you had a wonderful time, and the pictures are gorgeous. Aren't dolphins wonderful? They always seem so happy.

You take the most awesome pictures! I am glad you had some fun and got some needed play time!

I am delayed here in Orlando - flight was suppose to leave at 5:15 PM and now it will leave at 8 PM - I will be looking at a beach in a few hours - in the Moonlight!

Hugs.

I trust that you can tell dolphins from sharks, since you're still among the living. Yet your comparison brought to mind a certain Vonage commercial. (As it apparently did others. Trust me, your blonde locks had nothing to do with the association.)

Glad you had a good time. Was the weather warm enough to enjoy?

Mahi-mahi is great, I use it all the time, but you can't beat a Fillet o' Flipper sandwich!!

where's all the bikini glam shots??

Wow that looks like a beautiful place to be in. Nice photos.

And trust me unwinding can be the most extraordinary thing we can do at times.

yeehah!..I'm goin' to bring my snorkels and flippers and my inflatable blue boat with a dino head!

hee!..hee!..have cool day!

Lovely to see you back--hope you brought some warm weather with you...

What are those dark spots behind Boneman in his picture? Looks suspiciously like sharks to me!

Serena- Yes- they are the epitome of joyfulness...the "Blue Birds" of the sea perhaps? :)

Baron- With all my heart- I hope you have the most wonderful trip ever. Wish I was going somewhere like that too...
One day I will :)

X~ Friend :)
At first glance I could not tell...but when they started jumping out of the water and playing with each other- I was pretty sure :) Also- sharks don't usually swim in groups, they are loaners- unless you find them in a feeding frenzy. I wouldn't want to be at the center of that! :)
The weather was nice- but still pretty cool. Long sleeves and jackets were required- but the warm summer days will be here soon enough :)

Phos!
LOL- No bikini glam shots :) Trust me- between the stretch marks and the scars from various surgeries- ain't none of that pretty! :)

SJ- there is more truth to what you said than I realized :)

Lux- today was such a hard day for me- emotionally, physically, and spiritually- your email came just when I needed it-
Thank you :)

Firebird- I hadn't noticed that- but I'll have to ask Mr. Bone about it! :)

Seven- LOL- I can try ;)

Mr Jones- you are simply fascinating to me! :)
