Thunder- and Sunsets
Aren't we both at times?
I would give almost anyting to be paid to do this kind of work-
being in the right place at the right time~ but it's a gift...not really a talent.
great photos, mayden!! yes, the sunsets and clouds are a gift .. but so is having an eye that can capture that moment in time effectively within a rectangular camera screen.. that's a gift .. and a talent ..
ps: i'd be just one of those heavy dark brooding clouds that would rumble off and on all day, but otherwise do nary a thing ..
I live in a place where homes, buildings, skyways block out any picturesque view of a sunrise or sunset. I miss seeing them..Seeing a sunrise and sunset is confirmation of being truly live.

What kind of work? You wan to be a cloud? KIDDING!!!
LOL on previous comment ;)
Great shots! One of these days I'll send you a few of my storm chase photos, if you like the thunderstorm end of clouds.
Lol SJ! I think the "cloud gig" is way under-rated!
Unfortunately I think I tend to be a "thunderstorm" more than I'm a "sunset". :)
Mr. Skunkfeathers- I would LOVE to see your storm chase photos :) I've never chased a storm, but I've had a few pop up on me-

beautiful skies!
i love cloudy skies,
and especially stormy skies
here on the western prairie we get summer thunderstorms with wonderful dark, brooding skies -- good stuff
by the sea, where you are, you have amazing skies like we never see here -- more good stuff!
you might have missed your calling
as photographer of skies, mayden :)

How many times have I tried to capture the sun on camera. I'm not sure you can... it truly IS A GIFT, not anything else :)
Nice camera work.
The sunset at the bottom especially is very rich.
cora, i LOVE sunset pics, but LOVE sunrise pix too...but, they come at such an inconvenient time of day, don't they??
I have a friend who specializes in photography as a second income; she has all the pricey equipment to take frameable, sellable photos.
Don't get me wrong; she takes plenty of good 'uns.
But quite frankly, some of the best photos I see, are "right place right time" shots, with just standard cameras.
Skill's good to have; the gift of being in that right place and right time is priceless.
There is no flat horizon anywhere around me. In the mountains the sunsets look so very different. Will have to take a trip to the shore next week.

gorgeous shots, all of them!
