May 30th...1969- 2008

SJ- how lovely of you to remember... Thank you :)

These are "gifts" in my yard- yes...I planted them (but not the tree- God knew I wanted one- and this one started to grow last summer- despite the drought!)

And gifts of the heart are revealed in this quote I found yesterday~

"In loneliness, in sickness, in confusion-the mere knowledge of friendship makes it possible to endure, even if the friend is powerless to help. It is enough that they exist. Friendship is not diminished by distance or time, by imprisonment or war, by suffering or silence. It is in these things that it roots most deeply. It is from these things that it flowers. "

- Pam Brown

I've cried 3 times in the last 24 hours- over a friend moving away, over a poem I found written by my daughter years ago in a special book we shared...and I've shed tears for no good reason at all. (something I saw on TV?)

I am getting down-right sappy in my old age! lol! :) Hugs to each of you- I'm thinking of closing Mayden's Voyage for a while- or taking the summer off. (Oh- I might start crying again!) Yes...I think it's time. Not for goodbye- but farewell?

One more post- then I'm done for a few months.

Be back soon~

Plants,t he gift that keeps on giving. I got a grapefruit tree, unfortunately it is a regulation tree, not a dwarf so I am not sure how that is going to work out in the tiny yard at Tiny House. sorry to hear you are going off - hope you reconsider.

Well don't stay gone for long. I guess I have this power over women. When I start hanging around, they leave. :( Oh well you know where I live and you have an open invitation for anytime. Hope to see you again some day,

Greg

Happy birthday to you!
I get melancholy sometimes. I think of the times I spent with my dad, or my best friend or a cat that I had for about 8 yrs who followed me everywhere around the house. Sometimes it just takes a song or seeing something that reminds me of them and I'll get misty in a heartbeat.
Your blog has been a source of inspiration to me.

We'll be here when you return.

Happy Birthday Cora! I miss you. I hope everything is well with you.

Your flowers are so lovely....

I hope you reconsider...you're blog has been such a feature in my life...it would be a sad day when you close it...even if just for the summer. Sniff!

uh....OK, well. Sad, huh?
Had an old dog for seventeen years and a season, cried my eyes out when we put him down,
Put a video together with the last season of his times, and put Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings behind it.
Dang, it made me cry even more.
What the doodle?!?
So, then i did a video of the sun rising?
And put Barber's song behind it?
and suddenly the sadness turned into a form of strength for going on, continuing life with a positive note.
Here's the url, if you want to see it.

Y'know, focus on your positive force, gal. You are one of the plus signs out there.
And, heck yueah, take a break. Take two.
But, as you can read from these comments, we ALL still think you're the prize!
You want a shoulder?
We here.
Want some soft talk and flowers? We be picking posies and putting our teeth back in.
(what? oh... OK, well, I'll put m'teeth back in)

How about a good book?
The Comedy Bible by Judy Carter.

A good poem? Well, I justy posted a poem that I turned into a song.
(more giggle than serious)
