Perilous Adventures and Wishes Granted~

(aka- what I've been up to, and drinks I've made:)

This is my hive...which I opened without my gloves...and that was a mistake.

I was stung just below the knuckle,  Apparently one of my bees didn't like me much?   Ouch!
(my hand swelled to twice the normal size)

However, I did make it to the beach....where I had strawberries and sushi on the shore :)
(but not at the same time)

Not quite Marilyn..
;)

My Grandmother came for a visit~ my dad's mom,  "Mabel"- who is such a lovely and dear person-
I'll be lucky to ever be half the lady she is ♥

Today I went to my Uncle's farm to pick strawberries ♥

I've made 16 cups of Jam so far!

And at last, I had a Martini!

It looks like Margaret had one too, but she didn't!  :)

I've done more, but I'm too tired to tell about it...but a garden WAS planted :)

Ouch! That's a nasty bee sting you got yourself. Yum, though ~ strawberries and sushi! That pic of margaret is too cute!

Have a wonderful weekend!

perhaps you need to wear eau de queen bee in order not to get stung!

the other photos look great. i'm looking forward to our annual beach excursion myself.

i <3 Bs!

we have a crabapple tree
that blossoms every second year

and this is the year!

it's right outside of our bedroom window -- i looked out yesterday and the whole tree was buzzing with bees, busy making sure there will be plenty of crabapples for the deer this summer

love your new pictures, mayden

owwwwww!! wont you get sort of immune to bee stings eventually? you can then laugh at them "go ahead...do your best!" I laughed out loud at kitty sacked out and mabel looks like the kindest of souls. i love these little photo essays...my favorite of course was you at the beach...mayden in her natural habitiat!

The bees think you are attacking their hive.. They went to all the trouble to make the honey and don't appreciate someone coming along and trying to take it. Lucky they aren't Africanized as the bees down here are or we'd've been hearing about you on the evening news...

Your remedies well outweighed one testy bee's exclamation point ;)

Ouch on the sting! I got bit by a spider a couple of weeks ago.

And I went to the beach, too, though I didn't have strawberries or sushi.

Love the "not quite Marilyn." lol

The series finale of 24 was tonight and I thought of you :) I hadn't watched it the last couple of seasons, but I watched tonight for old time's sake.

I hope your hand is doing OK. Looks bad in the pic. We have had few bees around here in Western North Carolina. Our strawberry crop here at school has suffered greatly as we rely on them for pollination. We aren't allowed to have a hive here either. Wonder where they went.
Be careful and wear gloves!

(1) You and your sushi. You can take the girl out of New York, but you can't....

(2) I would say that for having the courage to confront the bees without gloves, we should give you a big hand, but it seems as though you already got one.

(ducks)

(3) I didn't know you were into martinis. Now that I think of it, I'd prefer a strawberry in mine, instead of an olive or an onion.
