Sunset at the beach~

Mr. Sun, please stay with me,
Just 15 minutes more, I plead-
But He sinks behind the waves and sea,
Other places he must be.

While waking faces look ahead,
Stretch and yawn, climb out of bed,
The moon and stars have slipped away-
And my Mr. Sun begins their day.

He never pauses when I ask,
My pleading does not alter task-
Yet at the dawning, bright and wild,
His whispers golden, "Love you child!"

How strange you came upon Cora Blue and your name is Cora and on the same day someone wiyh a blog site called Blue commented on it as well. It had only had 3 comments in a year! Thank you so much for reading. I am a worshipped of the sun and I love this poem. Reminds me so much of sunsets in Mexico on the beach. And the last line is just perfect. Loved it!

Mr. Hero, I was logged in under my corablue5@gmail acct when I discovered your poem- which was absolutely lovely. I had to go back in my blogger form to leave a proper note. Thank you so much for dropping by! This poem will definitely go in a children's book of poetry- sooner than later I hope! :)
