There are some weird things being posted out there people!
I just looked at a blog that I think I could have gone the rest of my life--happily--without ever seeing! Yuck! Nevermind what it was... It all comes back to what lengths people will go to- to find love, and when they can not, to find something that will replace it, when NOTHING else will do!
I saw a movie today, from 1986, called "Choices". Obviously it was about abortion, and the set up was good, but the writer really dropped the ball about halfway through the movie. Has there been movie produced about abortion that makes sense? One that shows the 'right' intentions (I do not mean politically) of all parties involved? So often the focus is only on the woman. What about the father/sperm donor? And if the woman is young, what about her parents, and his parents, and the Dr.s and the psychologists, and how about an OBGYN who takes care of mothers and babes in the womb on a daily basis? How about showing a contrast/comparison to a woman who desperately wants a baby and miscarries at 18 weeks...and a woman who aborts at 18 weeks? How about a follow-up, say at 1 year, 5, 10, and 20 years.
For the mom who aborted and the mom who miscarried.
We hear so loudly about a woman's right to choose, but the ball is dropped the second she makes her choice, and that is not reality. The choice is made and an entire life...at least 2 lives, are affected...sometimes more.
The "choice" may begin as a black and white issue depending on who you are, but I have never met a single person whose life has been touched by abortion where the choice did not result in many shades of gray.
Good, bad, right, wrong, a solution or just a step into something more complicated...Abortion is not a simple matter. To me, it seems hard to err on the side of life when trying to choose between what is just and unjust. We hear all about "Rights", but the truth of the matter is that we should be talking about Justice. The definition follows:

To treat adequately, fairly, or with full appreciation
While watching a nature show the other night a researcher discovered a tiny (mouse-brown?) Lemur. With it's big eyes and beautiful face looking at the camera the researcher said that this animal was a primate, distantly related to us, and that we could not help but to fall in love with it (I had to agree) and want to help it survive. I looked at my husband and said, "I know, lets give it abortion rights!"
Animal activists would have stormed my house if my comment had been broadcast along with the program. WHere is the Justice for the unborn child? It, the fetus, has less value than a lemur in the rain forest. sigh...I wonder how this can be so...
